| Christmas is more than just presents, Placed carefully under the tree; Christmas began in the heart of God, And would include you and me. God wanted us to know His truth, So His Son came to live on earth; He was our Lord and Savior to be, Right from His very birth. He came from the riches of glory, To a lowly stable on earth; From perfection above, to the lowest place, To have an important birth. Prophets long forecast this plan of God's, In writings and scripts from the start; And through centuries, people were taught, The things that were deep in God's heart. Even these clues, that ran through His book, Though accepted, many were not aware; That God in His love and His mercy, Had planned this, with His tender care. For only the hearts that were tender, Would respond to celebrate His birth; The shepherds that listened to angels, The star following wisemen on earth. So, many religious were missing the truth, And many were just trying to do good; But, all of them obviously missed out on the best, If only they had understood! Christmas is still more than a present, It begins with what God does impart; When people believe in Jesus, And ask Him into their heart. Only then, is Christmas down in your heart, Only then, is your joy complete; For Christmas happens within the heart When you and the Lord shall meet.
